Homeschool Days @ FNS

Our Homeschool Friends program, serving children ages 6-11, features child-led play and nature-based learning in a fun and dynamic way! Between the hours of 9am and 1pm, participants engage in free play as well as facilitated sensory activities, like making eggshell planters, playing mud kitchen or creating nature art. Participants practice collaborative creativity while exploring the outdoors in all four seasons. 

A typical day includes free play, facilitated sensory activity with book, collaborative game, lunch, park play, and art time. Participants are asked to bring a healthy lunch to eat at our site or Gulley Park. We meet in the outdoor space to the northeast of Parkside Playschool and Fayetteville Nature School, with easy access to Gulley Park.

Our goal is for participants to develop critical thinking skills and foster connections to the natural world. We are committed to nurturing curiosity, creativity, and a love for learning through hands-on, nature-based education.
